With all the curated dining sets we have designed, circulating or passing food during a sit-down dinner has often posed a challenge for our clients. As Delhiites, we love our food and frequently prefer butler service; however, for intimate family occasions or gatherings with friends, we wanted a more seamless way to dine.
The idea for our Teak Wood Lazy Susans, featuring a riot of colors, was conceived on a whim to allow for a more relaxed experience once the food is on the table. After several iterations, the results were immediate. Choosing organic polish colors to complement the sometimes bold, sometimes delicate patterns of the tiles became a passion that drove us to hunt for materials everywhere. The wood itself surprised us, as the natural grains created their own symphony.
The outcome of each piece was so unique that we eventually had to curtail orders due to the overwhelming response. We refused to compromise on quality even as vendors moved toward fast production. Consequently, we now produce these only to order, as a bespoke accompaniment to the dining table.
"The beautiful is as useful as the useful. Perhaps more so." — Victor Hugo, Les Misérables
